Today, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the first official show of AVTOVAZ’s hot new product, the Lada Iskra sedan, took place. This model will be placed in a niche between Granta and Vesta, and its design represents a further evolution of the signature “X-style”. In practice, this translates into less prominent sidewalls and a larger number of edges. AVTOVAZ emphasizes that the body of the new model has undergone a thorough aerodynamic study.
Iskra was created on an adapted and localized Renault CMF-B platform, because its development began long before the French company left Russia. That is, in many elements the Lada Iskra is unified with the current third-generation European model Dacia Logan. The Lada will have analog instruments, a media system and up to four airbags. Following the sedan there will be a station wagon and its raised version Cross.

The buyer will be able to choose between two 1.6-liter VAZ engines. Basic eight-valve engine with 90 hp. Only a five-speed manual transmission is available. Senior sixteen-valve engine with 106 hp. combined with a six-speed manual transmission or CVT.
Lada Iskra is still undergoing a cycle of final tests and fine tuning. In parallel with this, preparations for production are underway, and its start is scheduled for early 2025. We have already met Iskra at the St. Petersburg Forum and will soon tell you more about her.
